This year we’ll end our annual conference True Stories with a very special bonus-lecture. On Saturday, May 18, Dan Reed will tell us about his documentary Leaving Neverland. The lecture will be at 2 pm in de Singelkerk in Amsterdam.
Dan Reed is a Peabody Award-winning and Emmy-nominated filmmaker who has produced and directed documentaries for 27 years. Leaving Neverland is his latest collaboration with HBO and Channel 4, both networks that he has worked with extensively in the past.
Leaving Neverland is the story of Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who allege they were sexually abused as children by the singer Michael Jackson. Reed describes this film as a “study of the psychology of child sexual abuse, told through two ordinary families who were groomed for 20 years by a paedophile masquerading as a trusted friend”.
Dan Reed’s lecture is only accessible if you have a ticket for True Stories: Beyond The Bubble. For tickets click here.
