This event is part of our conference True Stories: Beyond The Bubble and will take place on Thursday 16 May at Pakhuis de Zwijger from 8 pm – 10 pm
At the Narrative Journalism Foundation we observe guidelines for what makes a journalistic production narrative, but we do not have similar guidelines to determine what makes a narrative production journalistic, or not. In light of recent controversy over journalists who are said to have stretched their narrative freedom too far, we want to explore those journalistic and narrative boundaries, to more clearly understand where those boundaries lie and at what point they are being crossed.
Jan Kuitenbrouwer will kick-off the evening with a spoken column about the pitfalls of narrative journalism. After that moderator Katinka Baehr will host a debate with Mads Brügger, Thomas Rueb, Mimi Lok and Anastasia Taylor-Lind about the challenges that narrative journalists encounter when creating their stories.
Limited seating!! Only for those in possession of a ticket for the ‘True Stories: Beyond the Bubble’ conference. If you have a ticket, please let us know if you want to attend via Eventbrite
